First Hemja Literature Festival from December 5th to 6th
Pokhara. Preparations for the first literature festival to be held in Hemja have been completed. According to the Chairman of the Main Organizing Committee, Shankarmani Tripathi 'Chhandamani', various sub-committees have finalized their respective preparations. The festival will take place on December 5th and 6th at Gyan Sagar Academy in Hemja.
This festival, which is purely a regional literature festival, will feature the presence of over 100 literary figures from outside the Kaski district on the same stage. Renowned poets, writers, artists, and creators from all over the country will attend the two-day festival.
'Organized with the aim of preserving and promoting regional identity, this festival will allow prominent literary figures from across the country to be seen on one stage,' said Coordinator Chhandamani, 'Don't miss this festival to gain knowledge about literature and enjoy its flavor.'
Shiva Tripathi, General Secretary of the Main Organizing Committee, informed that the Hemja Literature Festival, organized for the first time in Hemja, will feature literary programs on December 5th and the poet Mukunda Sharan Upadhyaya's chariot procession (Ratharohan) and felicitation ceremony on December 6th.
On December 5th of the festival, literary figures arriving from outside the district will present their creations. Tripathi informed that this includes the recitation of poems, songs, ghazals, muktak (short poems), and short stories, as well as a symposium on theatre and stage, epic writing, and fiction writing.
He informed that local communities, literary organizations, schools, and volunteer groups have provided support to make this program, organized with the objective of identifying literature, culture, and the overall identity of Hemja, a success.
The felicitation program, including the chariot procession of the poet Mukunda Sharan Upadhyaya based on his contributions to literature, cultural consciousness, and poetry, has become the main attraction of the festival.
Tripathi informed that the Ratharohan (chariot procession) program will also include cultural performances, including diverse presentations that showcase important aspects of poet Upadhyaya's literary journey.
The festival will also feature poetry recitation, book launches, literary symposia, cultural presentations, and an exhibition of local arts and culture.
The organizers believe that this two-day event in Hemja will prove significant for Nepal's literary sector.
