Health Status of Rabi Lamichhane Following Hospitalization
Kathmandu: The health condition of Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former Home Minister, is normal. Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital issued a statement on Wednesday informing that Lamichhane’s health status is stable. The hospital stated that he is currently receiving treatment via intravenous antibiotics.
The statement reads: "Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, was admitted to the Orthopedic Department of this hospital on 2082/10/13.
He sustained an injury to his left leg during a program in Janakpur on 2082 Magh 5, which developed into cellulitis after medication failed to provide relief. He is currently being treated with IV antibiotics. We wish to inform that his condition is now normal and wish him a speedy recovery."
Lamichhane was hospitalized yesterday evening after a minor injury sustained during a program in Janakpur on Magh 5 worsened over time, leading to an infection in the deep layers of the skin (cellulitis).
Although the injury itself is not serious, his personal secretary, Avinash Acharya, informed that Lamichhane will return to regular political and organizational activities only after full treatment and recovery, following doctors' advice to prevent the infection from spreading.
