Health Minister Pathak Inspects Family Planning Association Kaski

Pokhara, 17 Kartik. Gandaki Province Health Minister Krishna Prasad Pathak on Monday inspected the Kaski branch of the Nepal Family Planning Association.

Upon arrival for the inspection, Minister Pathak was welcomed by the Chairman of the Nepal Family Planning Association Kaski, Naveen Sigdel, along with other officials, members, and staff.

During the inspection, Minister Pathak sought information about the services the association provides, as well as its problems and needs. Senior Branch Manager Naba Raj Tiwari provided details on the association's activities.

Following the inspection, Minister Pathak stated that the Ministry of Health is ready to collaborate with the Nepal Family Planning Association Kaski. He said that they will determine how to move forward through discussions between the ministry and the association.

Naveen Sigdel, Chairman of the Nepal Family Planning Association Kaski, mentioned that despite the eagerness to work in the health sector, they have been unable to do so due to a zero budget.

The association's office, located on Upakar Marg in Pokhara-12, provides services including family planning, safe abortion, safe motherhood, counseling and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, HIV testing and counseling, preliminary testing and counseling for cervical cancer, counseling and treatment for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, and all services related to sexual and reproductive health, as well as laboratory services.

The association recently started providing Video X-ray services from the month of Ashoj
