Durga Prasai to Join Gen Z-Led Protest Against Corruption and Social Media Ban Tomorrow
Kathmandu, September 7, 2025 – Durga Prasai will join a Gen Z-led protest tomorrow, Monday, September 8, against corruption and the recent social media ban in Nepal.The Protest will Start 11 AM Onwards at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu.
In a Facebook post, Prasai thanked all Nepali citizens for participating in the nationwide movement and urged the government not to use repression as it allegedly did in the past.
Recalling Nepal’s political history, he criticized leaders whose families now enjoy luxury while public resources are misused. He also highlighted the flow of illicit wealth abroad, which led to his imprisonment for speaking out.
Prasai called on all Nepalis, both in the country and abroad, to unite against corruption and defend freedom of expression, saying, “This fight is not just mine—it belongs to every honest Nepali. Your participation is essential in reclaiming illicit wealth and protecting citizens’ voices.”
The protest is expected to be led by Gen Z youth, with citizens of all ages joining the call for transparency, accountability, and media freedom.
