Geeta Panchayan Welfare Society Successfully Concludes its Third General Assembly
Kathmandu. The Geeta Panchayan Welfare Society (गीतापाञ्चायन कल्याणकारी समाज), established with the objective of developing mutual cooperation, collaboration, and a sense of fraternity and unity during times of need (both life and death), successfully concluded its third general assembly at Kalanki Uttari Height. The general assembly unanimously selected a new executive committee led by Surendra Kumar Dahal.
The newly formed executive committee includes Bishnu Sapkota as Vice-Chairperson, Deepak Rijal as Secretary, Prem Subedi as Treasurer, and Sarita Thapa as Joint-Secretary. Similarly, Uttam Syangtan, Pratima Pokharel, and Sarita Budhathoki were selected as members of the working committee.
The general assembly was inaugurated by Bagmati Provincial Assembly member, Nuraj Bajracharya. During his inaugural address, MP Bajracharya praised the commendable contributions of the Geeta Panchayan Welfare Society in the areas of social harmony, cooperation, and humanitarian service since its establishment.
He expressed his commitment to provide all possible assistance for the further progress and institutional development of the society, noting that the programs carried out by the society are exemplary for other social organizations.
In the program, the Acting Chairman of the Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission, Juddha Bahadur Gurung, stated that the society's active role during disasters, moments of sorrow and happiness, and social crises is a good example of social solidarity. He emphasized that such organizations play a significant role in fulfilling the state's social responsibility and suggested that the society's work be made more systematic and long-lasting.
Likewise, Ward Chairman of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14, Suman Shrestha, praised the welfare programs conducted by the society in coordination with the local level. He mentioned that the local government is willing to work in partnership with social organizations and expressed his intention to further expand collaboration with the Geeta Panchayan Welfare Society in the future.
Suresh Rayamajhi, Chairman of the Geeta Panchayan Mandir Samaj Sudhar Sanstha, stated that the society has played a vital role in preserving religious, cultural, and social values, and in developing a spirit of unity and cooperation within the community. He expressed confidence that the society will continue its social service with transparency and dedication in the future.
The annual progress report and financial statements were presented and approved at the general assembly. Furthermore, a decision was made to make the society's programs for social support, emergency relief, religious-cultural preservation, and community-centered initiatives more effective for the upcoming term.
The newly elected Chairman, Surendra Kumar Dahal, thanked all members for the trust shown in the society and committed to strengthening the society further through collective effort and participation. He stated his goal is to establish the Geeta Panchayan Welfare Society as an exemplary social organization.
