Registration for Garima Road Race 2082 Now Open via Khalti App.

Garima Bikas Bank Limited is set to organize the second edition of the Garima Road Race, 2082 on Saturday,(Mangsir 6, 2082 B.S.), under the slogan “Sports for Health” to mark its 19th Anniversary.

The road race competition, which the development bank initiated last year, will feature a 10-kilometer race for the Open (Men & Women) category, a 5-kilometer race for the Corporate (Men & Women) category, and a 5-kilometer race for the Veteran (Men & Women) category. 

While last year’s event only included the Open and Corporate categories, this year, the Veteran category has been added with the aim of including competitors aged 45 years and above for women, and 50 years and above for men.

The Garima Road Race, 2082 is expected to have around 1,000 participants. The winners of both groups in the Open category will receive a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 each, while the winners of the Corporate and Veteran categories will receive Rs. 30,000 each. 

Furthermore, in the Open category, the second-place finisher will receive Rs. 35,000, the third-place finisher will receive Rs. 20,000, the fourth-place finisher will receive Rs. 15,000, and the fifth-place finisher will receive Rs. 10,000 in cash prizes. 

Similarly, for the Corporate and Veteran categories, the second-place finishers will receive Rs. 20,000 each, the third-place finishers will receive Rs. 14,000 each, the fourth-place finishers will receive Rs. 10,000 each, and the fifth-place finishers will receive Rs. 7,000 each.

The road race will commence from the premises of the development bank's proposed central office building in Baluwatar, Kathmandu. The competition for the Open category will start from Baluwatar, proceed to the office building of Budhanilkantha Municipality Ward No. 3, and then conclude by returning along the same route to Baluwatar. 

The competition for the Corporate and Veteran categories will start from the same location, proceed to Neuro Hospital in Bansbari, and then conclude by returning along the same route to Baluwatar.

To make the competition more organized, the development bank has partnered with Khalti App. Interested runners can register for the competition via the Khalti App from (Kartik 28 to Mangsir 4, 2082 B.S.), by paying a fee of Rs. 20. The development bank is confident of a significant turnout this year, building on the success of the Garima Road Race 2081, which saw the participation of a total of 650 competitors, including Olympic runner Santoshi Shrestha.
