Galkot Samaj UK Extends Financial Support to Gallstone Patient Nandu Nepali

Thamman Thapa, Galkot - Galkot Samaj UK has provided financial assistance of NPR 50,000 to Nandu Nepali, a 55-year-old resident of Paiyudanda, Ward No. 2 of Galkot Municipality. Nepali has been suffering from gallstones for the past two years and is currently undergoing treatment.

Due to the high cost of treatment and the family’s weak financial condition, accessing proper medical care had become difficult. Aiming to ease the burden to some extent, Galkot Samaj UK—established by Nepalis in the UK—offered the monetary support. According to the organization’s founding secretary, Dr. Pushpa Dutta Upreti, the amount was personally delivered to the patient at his home.

The donation handover was carried out in the presence of Ward Chairman of Galkot-2, Himbahadur Bhandari; Nepali Congress Galkot Municipal President Birjang Bhandari; social worker Chandradatta Regmi; and ward members Umesh Nepali and Rudra Shrees. Galkot Samaj UK’s current president Chandra Sahani confirmed the handover of the support on behalf of the organization.

Galkot Samaj UK has been involved in various philanthropic and social initiatives since its inception. Recognized as one of the leading Nepali organizations in the UK, the society has completed numerous impactful projects over its eight-year journey. Recently, the organization also purchased its own building in the UK, marking a significant milestone in its institutional development.
