Employees’ Union Formed in Hospital Development Committee

Janakpurdham — A new executive committee of the “Hospital Development Committee Employees’ Union, Trade Union Federation, Provincial Hospital Unit Committee, Janakpurdham,” under the Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences, has been unanimously elected.
The union, which had already completed its previous tenure and been registered at the Department of Labour, bid farewell to the outgoing committee with thanks and formed the new committee as per the statute.
In the new executive committee, Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur has been chosen as Chairperson, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Shah as Vice-Chairperson, Ajit Kumar Tiwari as Secretary, Er. Pawan Kumar Mahato as Joint Secretary, and Kiran Yadav as Treasurer.
Similarly, members include Dr. Ramesh Yadav, Dr. Kundan Mishra, Ruby Sah, Bibha Karna, Poonam Thakur, Kausilya Timilsina, Bina Sah, Ashok Kumar Yadav, Shrichan Mandal, and Banker Mestar.
In the advisory committee, former chairperson Dr. Rabindra Kumar Singh and legal advisor Mr. M. K. Jha will serve.
It was also unanimously decided that, apart from civil service employees, all staff working at the Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences will be granted membership upon payment of a membership fee as per the statute.
The meeting expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of late employee Bhola Kumar Raut (Mestar), who was serving as a sweeper at Provincial Hospital Janakpurdham, and paid tribute with one minute of silence.
Regarding the rights and duties of employees, the meeting affirmed that in the coming days, the union will give special attention to making employees’ rights, duties, and responsibilities more effective.
The committee pledged to ensure employees’ right to work in a safe, respectful, and discrimination-free environment; to engage in continuous dialogue with the management regarding salaries, allowances, facilities, and professional rights; to emphasize training, technical competence, and efficiency throughout the service period; and to call on employees to perform their duties with honesty, punctuality, and accountability to service.
Providing quality and humane care to patients and service recipients was affirmed as the first and foremost duty of every employee. These fundamental commitments were endorsed unanimously.
