Gen-Z Movement: Durga Prasai Warns, Country at Risk of Pushing Towards Civil War
Kathmandu — Writer Durga Prasai has issued a serious warning on Facebook regarding the suppression of the Gen-Z movement. According to him, the history of the people’s war, in which 17,500 Nepalis lost their lives, is repeating itself.
Today, the state has reportedly used brutal force to suppress the movement, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of innocent children, thousands injured or maimed, and state property worth over 50 billion NPR destroyed.
Prasai emphasized that the Gen-Z movement is not just for the youth but for all Nepalis. However, internal disagreements among the youth and unclear leadership have created opportunities for corrupt and anti-national elements to take advantage.
He urged the Nepalese Army to remain vigilant in protecting the lives and property of citizens and called for an immediate halt to raids and arrests targeting Gen-Z members. He warned that failure to act could push the country further toward a catastrophic civil conflict.
