'Duluwa' Team's Tourism Promotion Journey: From Pokhara to Humla
PokharaThe 'Duluwa' team, which has been conducting extensive tours of tourist destinations, departed from Kaski for Humla on Friday. The team is scheduled to visit Parbat, Baglung, Rukumkot, Limi, and Lapcha La Pass before returning.
The 21-member team plans to arrive back in Pokhara on November 17 (Mangsir 1st). They were given a warm farewell and wished a pleasant journey by Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, the coordinator of the Pokhara Visit Year 2025, at a ceremony organized in Pokhara. They handed over the banners of Pokhara Visit Year to Yogesh Bhattarai, the coordinator of Duluwa.
Naresh Bhattarai, former president of REWAN Pokhara, and MB Astha Magar, president of the Gandaki Sports Journalists Forum, among others, bid them farewell.Handing over the banner for Pokhara Visit Year 2025, Coordinator Bhattarai stated that Nepal is naturally a hub for adventurous travel and that this journey will help promote tourism in Pokhara and Gandaki Province.
He mentioned that Pokhara is organizing various programs to celebrate the Visit Year and emphasized the need for promotional activities both inside and outside Nepal to attract tourists to Pokhara.
Yogesh Bhattarai, the coordinator of Duluwa, said that the campaign aims to highlight the picturesque places in Nepal that possess natural and cultural beauty.
He stated that the journey to Humla, Nepal's last valley, will be quite adventurous. He also mentioned that the journey seeks to revive the ancient route that leads up to Mount Kailash and the Limi Valley.'Duluwa' is a group of young tourism professionals from Pokhara. The youths, who have been involved in paragliding and tourism since 2008, began traveling across Nepal together. This group was later named 'Duluwa' in 2020.
In its 15 years of establishment, Duluwa has successfully visited 70 districts of Nepal, traveled as far as Ladakh in India, and completed a journey from Kaski to Kanyakumari.The team, which has named its journey the 'Humla Last Valley Campaign', will travel through Rukumkot, Rakam, Sarkheghat, Simkot, Limi Valley, and the $5,000$ meter high Lapcha La Pass before returning to Simkot.
Following that, they will return to Pokhara in 11 days via Sarkheghat, Kohalpur, and Butwal.During their previous journeys, the 'The Northern Wall' video created by the 'Duluwa' group's 'We Will Rise Foundation' won the video competition organized by Nepal Television.
The 'Most Energetic Video Maker' award in the competition was also won by Duluwa's 'Mero Gaun Taksera'.
