Interaction Program on Insurance Concludes in Dhankuta

Dhankuta. The discussion and interaction program on insurance, organized by the Insurance Authority Koshi Province Office, was concluded today in Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality of Dhankuta.

The discussion and interaction program covered topics such as access to insurance at the local level, claim procedures, provisions for subsidies, and current challenges.

In the interaction and discussion program, Sachin Rai, Assistant Director of the Insurance Authority Koshi Province Office, made a presentation on various aspects of insurance.

Participants in the interaction raised questions about the basis and rate for insuring government buildings, potential fraud through agents, province-specific differences in medicine distribution for livestock insurance, and whether third-party motor insurance claims could be processed in phases.

The Chief Guest of the program, Manoj Rai, Chairperson of Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality, highlighted the necessity of disseminating insurance-related information to farmers and the general public.

He emphasized the need to widely propagate the message that insurance is possible for all structures, including crops, livestock, and buildings. He stated that such programs are useful as insurance is a means of protection.

Ratnashwori Rai, Vice-Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, mentioned that awareness programs about insurance would have a great impact on the community, suggesting that not only people but also livestock, crops, and physical structures should be insured.

Surya Bahadur Bhandari, Chief Administrative Officer of the Rural Municipality, expressed that he received extensive information about the insurance process and access in a short time and committed to re-broadcasting this information at the local level.

Priti Dev, Chief of the Insurance Authority Koshi Province Office, stressed that all insurance services should only be taken through licensed companies and authorized persons, and requested that factual details of the incident must be provided during a claim.

She informed participants that there is a provision for filing online complaints through the Insurance Authority if there are any grievances regarding insurance services.

She also shared that the government provides subsidies ranging from 50 to 80 percent for agriculture, and suggested that if there are any doubts regarding recommendations, direct coordination can be established with the Authority. She also requested patience, as non-life insurance claim assessment might take some time.

The program was attended by employees of Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality, insurers, insurance agents, and local residents. The program was moderated by Milan Pokharel.bima-chalfal-karyakram-(2)-1764136568.jpg
