Coordination with Gen Z Leaders: Security and Facilities Ensured for the Protest
Kathmandu, September 8 – A late-evening telephone conversation took place between Gen Z leader Rabi Kiran Hamal and Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Chief Raju Pandey.
During the conversation, Pandey informed that the metropolitan office would provide two portable toilets and water facilities for the protest scheduled on September 8. He also clarified that the contact was made on behalf of Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah.
Political circles have interpreted this coordination from the metropolitan chief and the assurance of necessary facilitation as a significant sign, especially as the Gen Z protest approaches.
After the telephone conversation, leader Hamal stated, “It is the government’s duty to provide security and facilitation even to those who oppose it, which is an advanced democratic practice.” He also expressed gratitude to the metropolitan office for this support.
