Chief Minister Baniya Conducts Surprise Inspection of Hetauda Hospital
Hetauda. Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, conducted a surprise inspection of Hetauda Hospital, operated under the Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences, on Wednesday evening. He carried out the emergency monitoring following continuous complaints regarding negligence and doctors not being present during their duty shifts.
During the inspection, Chief Minister Baniya expressed dissatisfaction with the hospital management after some doctors were found absent during their duty hours. He immediately summoned Bhimsagar Guragain, Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee, and directed him to make service delivery effective and to resolve the identified problems promptly.
Chief Minister Baniya stated that citizens must receive easy and quality service at government hospitals and cautioned the management to be serious about their responsibilities. "It is unacceptable for citizens who come to receive services at a government hospital to face hardships," he said.
During the monitoring, most of the patients undergoing treatment complained that doctors were not available on time. One patient remarked, "I don't know when Hetauda Hospital will improve. What is the use of just having a building when the facilities inside haven't improved?"
Following the Chief Minister's inspection, the hospital management committed to taking the necessary steps to improve services. It has been stated that the provincial government will also continue regular monitoring to rectify weaknesses seen in health services.
