Cloth Bank Starts Quilt Distribution Campaign

In the middle of the biting cold, Cloth Bank Nepal has started a nighttime quilt distribution campaign in Janakpurdham. The initiative focuses on poor, homeless, and helpless individuals sleeping on pavements and in public places during the freezing nights.

A dedicated team including Cloth Bank Nepal Chairman Dr. Rajiv Jha, Secretary Manish Shriom, Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luitel, DIG Govinda Thapaliya, and SP Gurum Kunwar walked through the city until 11 PM. Other members like Krishna Kumar Sah, Sub-Inspector Ravi Mandal, and Constable Ram Tahal Yadav also joined the team to distribute quilts to those in need.

The group visited several areas including Gangasagar, Ram Mandir, Janaki Mandir, Barabigha, Sankat Mochan Mandir, the railway station, and Mills Area. They searched for sick and helpless people struggling in the harsh winter night to provide them with warmth. This campaign has provided immediate relief to citizens living on the streets.

Earlier, the Rauniyar Youth Forum donated 50 fiber quilts to Cloth Bank Nepal. This support was made possible through the efforts of Puran Rauniyar, who is the Chairman of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Dhanusha and Vice-Chairman of Cloth Bank Nepal. Out of those 50 quilts, 25 were distributed during this drive in Janakpurdham.

The formal handover of the quilts took place at the Rauniyar Sewa Samiti. The event was attended by Rauniyar Youth Forum Chairman Rakesh Rauniyar, Vice-Chairman Manoj Gupta, and Jayaprakash Sah, who is a patron of the committee and Vice-Chairman of the Construction Entrepreneurs Association.
