Bina Shrestha Elected President of Chandika Ama Group

Pokhara — The 13th general assembly and 5th convention of the Chandika Ama Group, located in Ward No. 9, Darbarthok, Pokhara Metropolitan City, unanimously elected a new 15-member executive committee under the leadership of Bina Shrestha.

Deumaya Shrees Pun was elected as vice-president, Meena Sigdel as secretary, Kamala Pandey as treasurer, and Shanti Bhujel Magar as deputy secretary.

The committee members elected unanimously include Krishna Maya Karki, Nilam Khawas Shrestha, Sunita KC, Shanti Gautam, Bishnu Sigdel, Debaka Thapaliya, Rachana Khawas, Khima Adhikari, Chunu Maya Gurung, and Sita Khawas.

Similarly, the advisors selected are Saraswati Koirala, Sita Nepali, Ganga Subedi, Bimala Ranabhat, Pushpa Kumari Acharya, Harimaya Gurung, Sharda Sigdel, Shobha Adhikari, and Khima Gurung.

The chief guests of the program included Ward No. 9 Chairperson Dipendra Marsani, ward members Geeta Charmakar, Nandaram Giri, and Laxmi Pahari; Chandimai Sewa Samiti, Darbarthok Chairperson Tej Bahadur Bhujel; Ward Coordination Committee Chairperson Uttam Joshi; former group president and Agriculture Network, Pokhara-9 Chairperson Bimala Ranabhat; and Newa Misa: Puch Naya Bazar Chairperson Kopila Shrestha, who all gave congratulatory messages.

On this occasion, the chief guest Marsani and Chairperson Sita Nepali honored senior citizens who have turned 80: Tej Bahadur Bhujel, Hiramaya Bhujel, Vednath Koirala, Purnakala Sigdel, Motisara Sharma Bhattarai, and Nirakumari Gurung, by draping them with shawls. Additionally, the students who passed the SEE examination in 2081 BS — Samrat Adhikari, Asmit Thapa, Suraj Thapa Magar, Swikrit Sigdel, Nishtha Khawas, and Swikrit Sigdel — were also honored. The student honor program was sponsored by Shobha Mishra Adhikari, Chairperson of Darbarthok Yoga Center.

During the assembly, the annual report of the organization was presented by Secretary Deumaya Shrees, and the financial report was presented by committee member Nilam Khawas.

The program, chaired by organization president Sita Nepali, featured a welcome speech by Vice-President Bina Shrestha, a welcome dance by committee member Rachana Khawas, and coordination by Treasurer Shanti Bhujel Magar.
