"Aashika Tamang's request to only transfer the donation amount after checking it thoroughly."

Social activist Aashika Tamang has been forced to clarify the stringent financial rules of her organization after a donor mistakenly transferred Rs 7,000 instead of the intended Rs.7 for her 'Warm Clothes for Winter' campaign and requested a refund.

Tamang took to Facebook to explain that funds deposited into the organization's account are governed by strict institutional procedures, making it impossible for her to personally process a quick refund.

"The money that comes into this organization is not mine to use as I wish, and to return it, we must follow all established procedures," she stated. She noted that she cannot operate or withdraw funds via mobile banking and is only authorized to view the total balance.

She further clarified the high threshold for withdrawals: "To remove money from the account, it requires consultation and consent from seven members of the organization. Only after that can the amount be withdrawn via a cheque signed jointly by the Treasurer and the President."

Highlighting the difficulties involved, Tamang requested donors to carefully double-check the amount before transferring a donation to avoid such complications in the future. This incident underscores the importance of institutional transparency and the limitations of charity accounts operating under strict governance.
