Pokhara – Hikers Club Nepal organized its 61st monthly hiking series on Saturday, August 16, 2025 (last Saturday of Shrawan), promoting Dhital village and Astam’s Naumati Baja Park in Kaski district.
The hike began from Pokhara-9, Darbarthok, with participants traveling by bus to Suikhet and then trekking through Hemjakot Community Homestay to Dhital Homestay, where they were welcomed with garlands. From Dhital, the group walked through Astam Naumati Baja Park, Astam village, and Jhijhirka before concluding at Milan Chowk.
Located at 1,550 meters above sea level, Astam Naumati Baja Park showcases traditional Nepali instruments such as Narsinga, Sanai, Damaha, Tyamko, Jhyali, and Dholak.
The club has been organizing such hikes on the last Saturday of every month for the past six years, with participants bearing their own transport and food expenses. Club president Krishna Ranabhat said growing participation has encouraged them further.
Journalist Om Hamal highlighted that the program not only offers the taste of organic local food but also supports rural tourism, while social worker Buddhi Bahadur Ranabhat emphasized its role in promoting healthy walking habits.
Participants included students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and local leaders. Among them, 10-year-old student Sagun Bastola drew special attention.
The 62nd series is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025 (Bhadra 28), with the destination to be decided on the third Saturday of the month.
