Pokhara –

Gurung Jewelry House Pvt. Ltd. organized an open blood donation program in Pokhara, collecting a total of 114 units of blood. The event was held in the courtyard of Gurung Jewelry House Pvt. Ltd., located at New Road, Pokhara-9, on the occasion of the birthday of the company’s director, Seema Gurung.

Along with the blood donation, literary figure Tirtha Gurung was honored with a cash prize and a certificate of appreciation. Author of the novels Pathshala and Hiunko Geet, Gurung received NPR 20,000 in cash as part of the honor.
The award was presented by Provincial Assembly members Panchram Gurung and Saraswati Gurung, company director Seema Gurung, managing director Nelson Gurung, Tamu Tamu Dhi Nepal president Hum Bahadur Gurung, journalist Balakasi Gurung, among others, who presented him with cash, a certificate of appreciation, and a traditional shawl.

Speaking at the program, director Seema Gurung said the blood donation program was organized as part of their social responsibility. She explained that despite financial challenges, she had ventured into the gold and silver business to contribute to the economy and become self-reliant. She expressed concern that the imposition of luxury tax and value-added tax by the government had negatively impacted both entrepreneurs and customers, adding that they were opposed to the so-called luxury tax.

Managing Director Nelson Gurung announced that Gurung Jewelry House will soon be expanding with a new branch. He said the new branch would be inaugurated on Ashoj 6, on the occasion of Ghatasthapana, and invited people to attend the event. He added that, despite the rising trend of youth migration abroad, he had been determined to run the business in Nepal with the spirit of doing something in his own country.
