Workshop Begins for Nepali Film ‘Mirmire’ Featuring Dayahang Rai and Prakash Saput

Kathmandu — The workshop for the upcoming Nepali feature film ‘Mirmire’ has officially begun. The film stars popular actors Dayahang Rai and singer-actor Prakash Saput in lead roles, marking their first collaboration on screen.

Director Yam Sherpa, who is also the story writer of the film, informed that the workshop started on Sunday with the presence of the main cast. “We began the workshop to ensure a smooth filming process and better understanding between characters and the story. It will help us wrap up the shoot more efficiently,” he said.

The workshop is currently being held at Kantipur Film Academy. Principal photography for ‘Mirmire’ is scheduled to begin this Friday, with most of the shooting taking place in Kavre district.

While it’s Prakash and Dayahang’s first time working together, director Sherpa is teaming up with Dayahang for the second time—after their previous collaboration in his debut directorial ‘Karsang’.

The film is presented by Yarsa Films and will also feature actress Sirjana Ninglekhu and actor Mao Tse Gurung.

Producers of ‘Mirmire’ include Nimu Sherpa, Chongba Lama Sherpa, and Ang Chhiring Sherpa, while Govinda Bohora, Sudip Kunwar, and Ishwar Shrestha serve as co-producers. Rohit Kattel, a prominent distributor and managing director of RR Films, is the executive producer.

Mirmire is scheduled for release in 2082 BS (2025/26), though the official release date has not yet been confirmed. RR Films will handle the distribution of the movie.
