Home Minister Gurung Urged to Address Wildlife Deaths in Nawalpur
Home Minister Sudhan Gurung was welcomed in Nawalpur by a team including Narishwor Lamichhane, the president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) for Nawalpur.
During the meeting, the local delegation drew the Home Minister's attention to the recurring deaths of rhinos and other wildlife in the Nawalpur area due to contaminated water.
A team including Nawalpur lawmaker Rajan Gautam also submitted a memorandum to the Home Minister regarding this issue.
According to locals, wildlife has been severely affected by contaminated wastewater discharged into rivers from various industries. They expressed concerns that many animals have been found dead after consuming this water.
After being informed of the problem, Home Minister Gurung also conducted an observation of the affected industrial area.
