Website Hacked Demanding Release of Durga Prasai, 'Nepali for Nepal' Group Responsible
Kathmandu – The website of the National Identity Card and Registration Department has been hacked, demanding the release of Durga Prasai, who was arrested last night. The group 'Nepali for Nepal' has claimed responsibility for the hack.
The group had previously claimed access to the Election Commission's data a while ago. Following this, information has been received that the hack specifically demands the immediate release of Durga Prasai.
The police and concerned authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident and are assessing the damage to the website and the security vulnerabilities.
This incident has once again highlighted the challenge of cybersecurity for government websites.
