Vice President Yadav Emphasizes Importance of Upcoming Elections for Strengthening Democracy
Kathmandu. Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has stated that the upcoming elections are a significant opportunity to strengthen democratic practices.
Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Wednesday to mark the fifth anniversary of the Indigenous Nationalities Commission, he urged everyone to exercise their right to vote, noting that elections strengthen the federal democratic republican system and reinforce inclusiveness.
He said, "The upcoming election is an important opportunity to strengthen democratic practice. Elections will play a vital role in keeping democracy alive and strengthening inclusiveness. We believe that elections will make citizens feel like equal stakeholders in the state."
He mentioned that the significance of inclusive democracy is only proven when every citizen feels their identity is respected and their rights are ensured.
Furthermore, he stated that elections play a crucial role in keeping democracy vibrant and making inclusiveness more robust.
