Voting for UML Leadership in Kathmandu Today

The voting for the new leadership of the CPN (UML)'s 11th National General Convention in Kathmandu will take place this morning.

The voting, which was scheduled to take place yesterday evening, was postponed after issues arose with the electronic voting machines (EVMs).

Approximately 660 candidates have registered their candidacies for the 301-member new executive committee. It is reported that 80 EVMs will be used for the voting process.

A total of 2,263 delegates will cast their votes in the general convention. The competition for the post of chairperson will be between the current chairman, KP Sharma Oli, and the current senior vice-chairman, Ishwar Pokharel.
