Vice President's Message on National Unity Day
Kathmandu. Vice President Ram Sahay Yadav has said that National Unity Day reminds us of our shared history, culture, and pride, and inspires us to strengthen unity among diversity.
Giving a message of best wishes on the occasion of National Unity Day, he said that the contribution of ancestors who tied the country together should be respected, and today should be celebrated as a mark of that respect.
He said, "National Unity Day, celebrated on Poush 27, is also observed as Prithvi Jayanti. This day reminds us of our shared history, culture, and pride, and inspires us to further strengthen unity amidst diversity. This day provides an opportunity to honor the contributions of the ancestors who made great efforts to bind the country into one thread."
Similarly, he said that this day should be used as a catalyst to increase social harmony, tolerance, and coordination while embracing Nepal's multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, and multi-cultural features.
He also mentioned that today reminds us that prioritizing national interest over personal interest is the foundation for building a strong and inclusive country. He added that this day holds special importance in inspiring the younger generation with a sense of dedication and service toward the motherland.
Furthermore, he stated that everyone should resolve to give up discrimination, enmity, and intolerance, and make equal opportunity, social justice, and cultural respect the main mantras of life. He said that this resolution will lead the country toward economic, social, educational, and political progress.
