Vice President's Message on Sonam Lhosar
Kathmandu. Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has stated that Sonam Lhosar will help further strengthen the fundamental values of the republic, federalism, equality, inclusiveness, secularism, and the rule of law adopted by the Constitution of Nepal.
In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar on Monday, he mentioned that such festivals possess the strength to strengthen national integrity and sovereignty by binding the country—which embraces multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, multi-cultural, and geographically diverse characteristics—into a bond of unity.
He said, "This festival helps to further strengthen the fundamental values of the republic, federalism, equality, inclusiveness, secularism, and the rule of law adopted by the Constitution of Nepal.
The strength to strengthen national integrity and sovereignty by binding our country, which has embraced multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, multi-cultural, and geographically diverse characteristics, into a bond of unity is inherent in our festivals."
He also expressed his belief that traditional practices such as collectivity, nature worship, ancestral worship, charity, greetings, and the exchange of well-wishes will further strengthen social harmony, mutual trust, and cooperation.
Furthermore, stating that the original dances, songs, instrumental music, and traditional cuisines performed during Sonam Lhosar keep the cultural heritage alive and highlight the national identity, he said that this festival inspires the adoption of the values of unity in diversity, tolerance, and mutual respect.
He also expressed his wishes that Sonam Lhosar may inspire all Nepalis toward social harmony, friendship, brotherhood, reconciliation, and mutual cooperation, leading the country toward peace, progress, and prosperity.
