Vandalism at Madhesh Province Chief's Office in Janakpur
Janakpur. Vandalism has occurred in front of the office of the Madhesh Province Chief, located inside the Madhesh Bhawan in Janakpurdham.
Members of the seven-party alliance, including Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) lawmakers and party workers, carried out the act of vandalism in front of the Province Chief's office, alleging that Madhesh Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari unilaterally appointed CPN (UML)'s Saroj Kumar Yadav as the Chief Minister.
They vandalized the nameplate bearing the name of the Province Chief, as well as decorative items including flowerpots outside the main entrance. During the protest, they also chanted slogans like "Province Chief Muurdabaad (Down with the Province Chief)," and "Unilateral action is not allowed."
Currently, a large number of police and Nepal Army personnel have been deployed inside the Madhesh Bhawan. Outside the Madhesh Bhawan, leaders and cadres of the seven-party alliance—including JSP Nepal, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP), Nepali Congress, and Janamat Party—are continuing to protest by burning tires.
