Pakistan’s Facilitation during US Iran Peace Talks

The first round of talks between the United States and Iran was held in Islamabad with the help of Pakistan. The meeting is part of efforts to keep the ceasefire, reduce tensions, and support a peaceful solution.

Pakistan said it helped organize the talks in good faith to create space for dialogue. It also thanked the US Vice President for recognizing Pakistan’s role and hospitality.

As the host, Pakistan made it clear that it is not part of the negotiations. It will not comment on the details or positions of either side. However, it called the meeting an important first step in the peace process.

Pakistan urged all sides to stay engaged, respect the ceasefire, and avoid actions or statements that could harm the talks. It said such serious issues cannot be solved in one meeting and require patience, respect, and careful diplomacy.

Pakistan also said it is ready to continue helping both sides if needed, and remains committed to peace, stability, and dialogue in line with international law and the United Nations Charter.
