Nepal’s UML Secretary Condemns U.S. Intervention in Venezuela as Imperialist
Kathmandu — Mahesh Basnet, Secretary of Nepal’s CPN-UML, has condemned the U.S. intervention in independent Venezuela, calling it an imperialist interference. He clarified that the sovereignty of any country does not rest in power, but with the people.
Secretary Basnet stated that the external intervention in Venezuela raises serious questions about international law, independence, and global peace.
He emphasized the need for the international community to unite in resisting such actions in support of world peace and the sovereignty of nations.
“No civilized society can accept intervention in any nation through the use of force,” he said. “Such measures pose a risk of further destabilizing the world order.”
Basnet highlighted that equality, mutual respect, and the protection of universal rights are indispensable in international relations, and he called on the global community to play a responsible role.
