Chure region must be made a protected area: Upendra Yadav
Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal Chairperson and candidate for Saptari Constituency No. 3, Upendra Yadav, has stated that the Chure region should be declared a protected area. Issuing a video message, Chairperson Yadav emphasized that the Chure region must be made a protected zone and the ongoing interference within it must be stopped.
Chairperson Yadav said, "Forests and the Chure region have been destroyed due to the wrong land-related policies brought by previous governments. The destruction of forests and the Chure region is turning the Terai Madhesh into a desert."
Yadav stressed the need to save Terai Madhesh from desertification by stopping deforestation and the uncontrolled extraction of rivers and streams flowing through the Chure region. He stated that JSP Nepal blocked land-related ordinances and bills brought by the government in the past because the party understood the sensitivity of the Chure region.
Leader Purna Basnet mentioned that JSP Nepal has also included the issues of forest and Chure region protection, as well as biodiversity and environmental conservation, in its election manifesto.
