UML Membership Crosses 600,000, with 28% New Entrants
Kathmandu, July 22 — The CPN-UML (Communist Party of Nepal - Unified Marxist Leninist) has announced that its total party membership has now surpassed 600,000. According to a recent Facebook post by party chairman and former Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, 28% of these members are newly recruited.
Sharing a graphic post celebrating this milestone, Oli highlighted the party's growing popularity and organizational expansion. The image features Oli himself, with a large crowd in the background and bold text declaring “६ लाखप्लस सदस्य संख्या” (600,000+ members), emphasizing the 28% new membership rate.
This surge in membership comes at a time when UML is preparing for upcoming political campaigns and internal restructuring. The inclusion of a significant number of new members is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party base and rejuvenate its organizational structure.
