UML Leader Mahesh Basnet Issues Open Challenge Over Arson and Looting
Kathmandu – Nepali Congress (UML) leader Mahesh Basnet has publicly reacted on Facebook regarding the arson and looting of his house and property.
In his post, he stated that “terrorists and looters operating under the name of GenZ burned down my house and destroyed my property.”
Basnet issued a bold challenge, writing: “Start the investigation with me. Include whoever you want in the investigative committee.
Keep a knife in the middle; if the corruption charges against me are proven, cut me, and if not proven, are you ready to cut yourself? Do you have the courage?”
He also responded to some commenters who claimed that it was “fine” that his investments were burned. Basnet clarified, “If any of my investments have been placed anywhere for the past three years, I will give them in your name.
Even now, the criminals remain my property. If any investment is linked to me or my associates, verify it — the government is yours to investigate, and I will officially record the names.”
Through his Facebook post, Basnet made it clear that he strongly warns those who attempt to destroy or loot others’ property.
