UML Leader Basnet Raises Concern over Parliament Dissolution
Kathmandu — Yesterday at 9:00 PM, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki was sworn in as the Prime Minister. Prior to this, according to an agreement between the President and Gen Z youth, the Federal Parliament was dissolved.
Reacting on social media, UML leader Mahesh Basnet expressed concerns over the process of dissolving the parliament.
He recalled that in the past, when a majority Prime Minister dissolved the parliament, it was declared unconstitutional. He warned that the recent dissolution appears to have been done in a way that differs from the constitutional procedure, urging vigilance.
