UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel Directs Mass Organizations to Gear Up for Upcoming Parliamentary Elections
Kathmandu, 25 Poush:
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), Shankar Pokharel, has instructed the party’s mass organizations to become more active in view of the upcoming election for members of the House of Representatives scheduled for Falgun 21.
Addressing a meeting of the Mass Organization Coordination Mechanism held today at the UML central office, General Secretary Pokharel emphasized that mass organizations must stand at the forefront of the election campaign.
He stated that, along with the demand for the restoration of Parliament, the election should be viewed as a means of safeguarding people’s rights and the achievements gained so far.
The meeting placed special emphasis on effectively mobilizing social media to build public opinion in favor of the party. In line with the party’s circular, General Secretary Pokharel said that all mass organizations should be mobilized to strongly convey the party’s message among youth as well as various classes, communities, and professional groups.
Speaking at the meeting, Party Secretary and Head of the Organization Department, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, stressed the need to mobilize mass organizations in a more active, disciplined, and result-oriented manner.
