UML Party Directives Following the 11th National Convention

Kathmandu. The CPN (UML) has instructed all its subordinate committees to carry out the messages of the party's 11th National Convention to the public level. According to the decision of the party's central secretariat meeting, an internal directive has been issued to widely spread the decisions and messages of the convention, which was held from Mansir 27 to Poush 3.

The UML clarified that the 11th National Convention aimed to build public opinion against regression and find a lawful solution to the problems caused in national politics and party life by the events of Bhadra 23 and 24. The internal directive mentions that the convention was fully successful in achieving both these objectives.

The party claims that the debates and disputes seen during the convention, from the selection of representatives to the election of leadership, have now ended. The directive states, "The grouping seen during the election ended right there. Now the party is reunited ideologically, politically, and organizationally."

The UML stated that the party must move forward based on the documents passed by the second Statute Convention and the leadership chosen democratically by the 11th National Convention.

"The questions of policy and leadership for the next five years have been settled lawfully," the directive says. "Now, by uniting around the party's policy and leadership, UML must become a decisive national force to achieve the national goal of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali'."

The UML described the events of Bhadra 23 and 24 as serious and sad incidents in the nation's life. The party alleges that those events pushed the country toward regression and that a government not recognized by the constitution replaced the popularly elected government.

The directive mentions, "The House of Representatives was dissolved unconstitutionally, the constitution was harmed, and the pillars of the nation's dignity and democracy were attacked." The UML concluded that in such a situation, it must move forward in a revolutionary manner to return the country to the right path.

The UML clarified that whether it is the restoration of the House of Representatives or elections, the party rank and file must move forward in a united and revolutionary way to succeed on both fronts.

Additionally, the party stated that international events have also confirmed the need to be alert and struggling for the protection of national independence, sovereignty, and democracy.
