UML Decides to Advance Movement Cooperating with All Pro-Democracy, Pro-Constitution Forces
Kathmandu. The main opposition party, CPN (UML), has made a crucial decision in its recently concluded Central Committee meeting to move forward with a movement, cooperating with all political forces dedicated to democracy and the constitution.
According to UML leader Mahesh Basnet's update via social media, the party has determined that since the issue of Parliament restoration is sub-judice in the Supreme Court, the time has come to raise a voice at the public level for the protection of democratic rights and the defense of the constitution.
The Central Committee also clearly stated that the UML will not run away from elections, but the government must create an impartial and trustworthy environment for them to take place.
This decision signals that the UML will now actively engage on both street and parliamentary fronts, joining hands with other parties on the issues of protecting democracy and constitutional supremacy.
