CPN-UML Finalizes Most Candidates for Upcoming Election; Heavyweight Leaders Denied Tickets

The CPN-UML has finalized candidates in most constituencies for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. 

The candidates were decided during a Secretariat meeting held on Saturday. However, several influential and heavyweight leaders of the party have been denied tickets.

Central Committee member Ishwar Pokharel, who was defeated while competing against Chairman KP Sharma Oli in the party's recently concluded 11th General Convention, is among the leaders deprived of the opportunity.

Others who did not receive tickets include Surendra Pandey, Yogesh Bhattarai, Gokul Baskota, Thakur Gaire, Karna Thapa, Ain Mahar, Jhapat Rawal, Naradmuni Rana, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Binod Khatiwada, Chhabilal Bishwokarma, Niraj Acharya, Bishnu Rijal, and Ushakiran Timsena.
