TU Cricket Ground to Remain Intact; Government to Renew Lease Agreement
Kathmandu: Government spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Sasmit Pokharel has clarified that the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur will not be demolished. Responding to questions from journalists while announcing cabinet decisions on Monday, he stated that a new lease agreement would be signed with TU.
He mentioned that since both the university and the sports ground are state entities and investments, they will move forward with a renewed agreement. "There has been such a significant state investment; both are state entities. There is no question of it being demolished," he said.
Tribhuvan University had previously sent a letter to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to vacate the physical structures located on its land.
