Those Who Betray the Nation Must Face the Harshest Punishment: Purna Basnet

Purna Basnet, Head of the Publicity Department of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, has demanded the harshest punishment for those who betray the people and the nation. Referring to the resignation of Minister of General Administration Rajkumar Gupta following the bribery audio scandal, he called for action against those involved in such incidents.
He said, “As far as possible, such incidents are hidden; even when exposed, mistakes and crimes are denied, and when action is taken in some cases, it is labeled as revenge.”
Citing a few cases, he said, “Rabi Lamichhane, who deposited bail worth crores, is facing revenge from the ruling party. Madhav Nepal, who deposited 3.5 million rupees as bail, is facing revenge from UML. Mohan Basnet, a former Congress minister who deposited 2.5 million rupees, is facing revenge from his own party. But UML's Minister Rajkumar Gupta is a victim of AI!”
He claimed that the bail amount these individuals deposited to the state and their resignations from their positions are clear evidence that they must be further investigated and punished.
According to him, individuals involved in such actions accept the punishment but do not admit to their mistakes and crimes.
