"The King Can Wait" - Rabindra Mishra
Kathmandu: Rabindra Mishra, Senior Vice-Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), posted a remark on his Facebook citing a statement, along with a video, of former King Gyanendra Shah.
In the Facebook post, Mishra quoted former King Gyanendra's statement: "That is the difference between the King and the politicians. The King can wait. The public must also be able to wait forever without being told. That should be the capacity. Patience is necessary."
After citing this statement, Mishra further commented: "The irony: The majority of the people desired it, but most leaders hesitated to speak out!"
Former King Gyanendra's assertion that 'the King can wait forever' and Mishra's comment that 'most leaders hesitated to speak out even though the majority of the people desired it' is being viewed as the differing stances of the current political parties and the proponents of the monarchy.
The RPP has been demanding the reinstatement of the monarchy.
