Gagan Thapa to Become First Congress President Since BP Koirala to Write Party Manifesto

Kathmandu. Following in the footsteps of BP Koirala, Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa is set to become the leader of a major Nepali party to personally write the election manifesto.

Congress youth leader Shankar Tiwari shared this information during an election-targeted training program held at the Nepali Congress party office in Putalibazar, Syangja Constituency No. 1.

Tiwari further stated, "The Nepali Congress has also decided to name the manifesto a 'Commitment Paper' (Sankalpapattra). Founding leader BP Koirala personally prepared the party's manifesto for the first general election in 2015 B.S. 

It is a fascinating coincidence that just as BP Koirala was elected President through a special convention back then, Gagan Thapa has also been elected President through a special convention now."

Shankar Tiwari explained that since the implementation of the manifesto falls upon the Prime Ministerial candidate, and because the party has proposed him for the premiership, Gagan Thapa is dedicated to writing the manifesto himself to take full responsibility for its execution. 

The program saw a significant presence of leading Nepali Congress workers from all municipalities within Syangja House of Representatives Constituency No. 1.
