Terai–Madhesh Loktantrik Party to Observe “Black Day” on Constitution Day
Janakpurdham, Sept 18 – The Terai–Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) has decided to observe “Black Day” on Friday, September 19, continuing its annual tradition.
A meeting held at the party’s central office concluded that, since issues of demarcation, identity, inclusivity, and others raised after the promulgation of the constitution were never addressed, the party would mark the day in memory of the brutal suppression and killings of unarmed peaceful protesters, as well as to pay tribute to the martyrs.
According to party leader Bibha Thakur, a program will be held at Janak Chowk in Janakpur to honor the martyrs on September 19.
