The Tendency to Believe Lies is Increasing in Society: Oli

CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has commented that the tendency to believe lies as the truth is growing in society.

Speaking at an event on Friday to launch a new website and mobile app, Chairman Oli claimed that planned false propaganda and misinformation are being spread against the UML. He stated that a trend has grown where others take credit for the work done by his party, and the public is being misled by fabricated stories.

"A tendency has flourished in society to fabricate false stories, ignore the work we have actually done, credit it to others, and spread rumors as if something was done instantly like magic, which people then believe. The style of presenting black as white, white as black, good as bad, and bad as good has now become a style of 'Goebbels' or even 'Super-Goebbels' (Maha-Goebbels)," Oli said.

Oli claimed that UML has become the biggest target of such misinformation and urged party leaders and cadres to remain vigilant.

He stated that the UML would move forward with a new style and working methodology, clarifying that although the party has faced some setbacks, it is not finished.

"We will move forward with a new style and system. We have suffered a setback, but we are not finished," he said.

Chairman Oli further claimed that efforts to isolate UML are still ongoing, adding that UML is an independent political force established on its own strength.

"We are not a vine that cannot climb without clinging to someone else. We are a strong, robust, and giant tree. We have not grown on someone else's strength; we have sprouted, grown, faced numerous challenges, and reached this point on our own strength," he said.
