Election Commission Issues 'Temporary Voters List Procedures 2082'
Kathmandu. The Election Commission has issued the 'Temporary Voters List Procedures 2082' to streamline the collection of temporary voter lists and the permanent voting process required for the proportional representation system under the House of Representatives elections.
The Commission developed and issued these procedures by exercising the authority granted by Section 44 of the Voters List Act, 2073. According to the procedures, the Commission will publish a notice including the schedule for collecting the temporary voter lists. The procedures also specify that the Commission may publish and broadcast this notice through national-level media as necessary.
Employees working for the Government of Nepal, provincial governments, local levels, or organizations owned or controlled by the government, as well as the army, police, detainees and prisoners in jails, staff and security personnel deployed for election duties, and heads and officials of constitutional bodies will be included in the temporary voter list.
According to the procedures issued by the Election Commission, if any individual's name is missing or if there is an error in a voter's name or details, the concerned person must submit an application with evidence to the Chief Registration Officer to include their name or correct the error.
