Joint Appeal to Elect Asmita Thapa in Okhaldhunga
Okhaldhunga. As the 2026 House of Representatives election approaches, the political atmosphere in Okhaldhunga has intensified. Former chairpersons and the current chairperson of the CPN (UML) Okhaldhunga-Kathmandu Contact Forum have issued a joint appeal urging voters to elect House of Representatives candidate Asmita Thapa with an overwhelming majority.
With the core message "Vote for Asmita in Okhaldhunga for the Gen Z generation, innovative thinking, youth entrepreneurship, and employment," the appeal requests district residents to cast their votes for the sun symbol. The joint statement mentions that capable and energetic leadership is essential to fulfill the long-term goals of developing Okhaldhunga, creating youth employment, promoting entrepreneurship, and building a prosperous district.
Former chairpersons of the Contact Forum, including Shantiram Khatiwada, Dip B. Karki, Nanibabu Budhathoki, Kedarraraj Pudasaini, Surendra Bogati, Kumar P. Ghimire, Tirtharaj Subedi, Amrit B. Dhamala, Sitaram Raut, Chandra B. Rai Wambule, Mohan Ku. Bista, Surya B. Gurung, and Binod Rai, have jointly signed the appeal to build momentum in favor of Asmita Thapa.
Similarly, the current chairperson, Sangita Karki, stated that everyone is actively involved in the election campaign and that the organization's entire strength will be focused on the candidate's victory. She claimed that Asmita Thapa is a qualified and capable choice, possessing a clear vision for the overall development of Okhaldhunga, youth participation, new energy in female leadership, and good governance.
Through the joint appeal, leaders, cadres, supporters, and well-wishers across the district have been urged to make the door-to-door campaign effective, deliver a clear message to voters, and ensure votes for the sun symbol.
As the election draws near, leaders state that the unity seen within the UML and the shared commitment of both past and present leadership are making the electoral atmosphere in Okhaldhunga increasingly strong in favor of Asmita Thapa.
