Sumana Shrestha Calls for End to Corruption and Nepotism in Nepali Politics
Nepali politician Sumana Shrestha stated that the situation where citizens must rely on the support of a political party and live on someone's grace in order to survive as a citizen must end.
Speaking at the formal declaration assembly of the Ujyalo Party Nepal on Wednesday, she said that the party should move forward by making corruption, nepotism, and favoritism the core issues of Nepal.
She stated, "The core issues of September 8th and 9th (Bhadau 23 and 24) must be embraced. That is, the core issues of Nepal are corruption, nepotism, and favoritism.
This party should end the situation where any citizen has to rely on the support of any political party and live on someone's grace just to survive as a citizen."
Furthermore, she mentioned that she is currently engaged in a unity campaign and expressed the opinion that a broad chest is needed to follow the path of unity and discard the culture of the old parties. She believes the future path lies in good governance and a non-discriminatory society.
"Many ask, 'Where is Sumana?' Sumana is in unity. Unity must happen. Let's have a broad chest to follow the path of unity and discard the culture of the old parties.
The future path is the path of good governance, and a non-discriminatory society is another path."
