“I Have Left the Party but Not the Agenda for Change”: Sumana Shrestha
Kathmandu: Former Education Minister Sumana Shrestha has stated that although she has left the Rastriya Swatantra Party, she has not abandoned her agenda for change. She announced her departure from the party on Facebook Sunday morning and later addressed supporters via Facebook Live.
Thanking well-wishers for their support, she said many were questioning why she left the party, but clarified that all the work she accomplished within the party was possible because of their backing. She emphasized that the agenda she carried within the party remains unchanged.
Shrestha urged everyone to support the Gen Z youth carrying the change agenda, warning against attempts to defame them. She claimed that the work she could not accomplish inside the party will now be pursued from outside.
She stressed that leaving the party was not for personal gain or a ministerial post but to support the younger generation. Emotionally concluding, she said, “This is the change we all want. No party should hinder Gen Z’s revolution—everyone should work together to build Nepal.”
