Constitutional Amendment Must Favor Progress, Says Suhang Nembang

Kathmandu: CPN-UML lawmaker Suhang Nembang has stated that constitutional amendment should not be for the sake of amendment alone, but should focus on further strengthening people's rights and moving towards progress.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, he expressed the view that the constitutional amendment process must move forward with the goal of protecting the rights achieved by the people and leading the country toward advancement.

He said, "Constitutional amendment is not just for the sake of amendment. It must be for progress, measured against the rights obtained by the people, and not for regression."

He mentioned that the constitution is not merely a collection of letters but a document of shared consensus written with the blood and sweat of the Nepali people.

"The constitution is not just a collection of letters. It is also a document of shared consensus written with blood and sweat. It is a link that connects national unity and the shared psychological spirit," he said.
