President Paudel Extends Sonam Lhosar Wishes

Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Paudel has stated that festivals like Sonam Lhosar enhance the spirit of mutual harmony, tolerance, and brotherhood among all Nepalis. 

Giving a message of best wishes on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar on Monday, he said that since Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-cultural country, such festivals help to increase mutual harmony, tolerance, and brotherhood among all Nepalis, while also helping to further strengthen broad national unity.

He said, "I believe that in a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-cultural diverse Nepali society, festivals like Sonam Lhosar will increase the spirit of mutual harmony, tolerance, and brotherhood among all Nepalis, and will help to further strengthen broad national unity."

Similarly, he mentioned that in this festival, the Tamang community has a tradition of performing ancestral worship, nature worship, and remembering the messages of Buddha, as well as gathering with relatives to exchange happiness with entertainment.

He said, "Sonam Lhosar is celebrated every year on the day of Magh Shukla Pratipada as the New Year of the Tamang community. In this festival, there is a tradition in the Tamang community to perform ancestral worship, nature worship, and remember the messages of Buddha, as well as gather with relatives and exchange happiness through entertainment. 

It is found that various castes, including Tamangs living in different parts of the country, have been celebrating this festival according to their own styles and traditions."

Additionally, he expressed his wish that Sonam Lhosar provides energy to everyone to move forward to build an economically and socially prosperous country by further strengthening the unity among all Nepalis.
