Activist Ajay Sodari on Hunger Strike at Maitighar
Twenty-six-year-old Gen Z activist Ajay Sodari has been on a hunger strike at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu for the past four days. Ajay began his fast-to-death on January 19, presenting a six-point list of demands. He has stated that he will continue his strike until these demands are met.
According to him, his demands include the immediate cancellation of election activities and the formation of an all-party government to provide a sustainable solution for the country. He is also calling for the release of detained Gen Z activists, legal action against killers, and the investigation and prosecution of corrupt individuals.
Furthermore, he is demanding a directly elected executive Prime Minister, state restructuring through constitutional amendment or rewriting, and the right for citizens abroad to vote. He is a member of the Gen Z group led by Miraj Dhungana.
