Gopalman Shrestha Calls for Unity and Transformation within Nepali Congress
Kathmandu. Gopalman Shrestha, addressing Gagan Thapa, has stated that there is a need for unity and transformation within the Nepali Congress. He mentioned that although the results of the recently concluded Federal Parliament elections did not meet expectations, priority must be given to the defense of democracy, strengthening the rule of law, and political stability.
Shrestha noted that the country is currently in the process of returning to its rhythm and stated that Gagan Thapa's leadership has provided hope and direction within the party. According to him, the election results have given a clear message for the Congress to become contemporary, embrace the aspirations of the youth, and undergo organizational transformation.
He stated that these results should be taken as a warning that the party has not been able to fully transform according to the people's desire for change, rather than just a failure of leadership. Shrestha emphasized the need to move forward by strengthening the organization from the ward level to the village, town, constituency, and district, up to the center.
He mentioned that the courage, vision, and ability to inspire youth shown by Gagan Thapa have made the party workers firmer. He expressed the view that bringing disappointment or deviation within the party in such a difficult situation would not be beneficial for either the country or the party, and that all Congress members should stand united in support.
He noted that the courage, vision, and ability to inspire youth shown by Gagan Thapa have made the party workers firmer.
